Sweet potato and split pea soup

There is no photo with this cos, to be brutally honest, this soup is UGLY! But it's extremely tasty and packed with flavour. It's my version of one I got in a leaflet from Wholefoods Market. Next time I make it I might add a chilli, either with the onion at the start or finely sliced to garnish.

4-5 cups water (maybe more)
1 onion, peeled and diced
1 tbsp grated ginger
1/2 a butternut squash, peeled and diced
2 sweet potatoes (medium), peeled and diced
1 cup yellow split peas
Veg stock powder or a cube
Spicy seeds (eg Graze or Munchy Seeds)

Cook off the onion in a little oil or some of the water. Then add the remaining ingredients apart from the seeds, bring to the boil and simmer for an hour. you may need to add more water. To serve, whizz it up and top with spicy seeds.

Hottie Black-Eyed Peas and Greens

This is another one from Appetite for Reduction - was finally able to source Liquid Smoke when I was in London so this was the first thing I made with it. I used double the hot sauce! very simple and very tasty. Below I've served it with some roasted butternut squash so it's very healthy too!

Jakob's, Gloucester Road

One last London shout-out for Jakob's on Gloucester Rd - on the left hand side if you're facing Kensington Park. An amazing range of salads and sarnies, although they do serve non-veggie items. All three of us had their freshly cooked wraps with hummous and the best tabbouleh I've ever had. The photo doesn't do it justice!

Tibits, Heddon St off Regent St

Tibits is a veggie buffet restaurant in a lovely little pedestrian street just off Regent St. You go up, help yourself to food and then pay by the weight of your plate! Four of us spent three hours there. We all ended up having seconds of the savoury food rather than puddings (which work the same way). Highly recommended if you're ever in central London!.
Below are just some of our plates!

222, North End Road, West Kensington

I have a lot of updating to do - I was in London last weekend and took a LOT of food pics.
The photos below are from 222 near Earl's Court. The service was a little 'chaotic' but the food was amazing and all totally vegan.
'Heart's Desire' - roasted artichoke hearts with rocket and red pepper sauce.

Trio of raw dips with crudites.

Black bean and tofu pancake with amazing vegan cream.

 Veggie burger!

Carrot tart with potatoes, veg and tomato sauce.

 Spinach and mushroom raclette.

 Chocolate cake nom nom nom!

Apricot and almond cake w ice cream.

Spice island pie - OMG good!
